This is a Tropical Storm Flossie Information Update for Wednesday morning, August 15th, at 5 o’clock.
Effective at 5 this morning, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center has cancelled all watches for the Island of Hawai’i. This includes the High Surf Warnings, the Flash Flood Watches, and the Wind Advisories for the entire Island of Hawai’i.
During the course of the night and early morning hours, Hurricane Flossie has not only moved in a south and westerly direction, which takes it away from Hawai’i Island but has lost its strength as a Hurricane and is now barely a Tropical Storm. The storm is losing its strength so rapidly that it may very well be a Tropical Depression status later today.
